Families in the Taranaki are receiving their care from more doctors and nurses under National than ever before says local MP Jonathan Young.
“Our dedicated health workforce is making a real difference for patients in our region.
“As of 31 March 2015 there were 146 doctor and 449 nurse full-time equivalents employed by Taranaki DHB. That’s 27 more doctors and 45 more nurses compared to 2008, including 22 more senior doctors and 13 more senior nurses.
“While many other countries are freezing or even reducing health funding, National is committed to protecting and growing our public health services.
“Health funding has increased every year under this Government and once again Health is expected to receive the largest share of new funding in Budget 2015 when it is released this week,” says Young.
