Local MP Jonathan says that more of our students in New Plymouth gaining NCEA Level 2 is something parents will be very happy to hear.
In 2015 86 per cent of local 18 year olds achieved NCEA Level 2, up from 81.3 per cent in 2014.
"This means good things for the futures of local kids.  Our teachers and students are working hard and the results are showing,” Jonathan Young said.
“This Government is committed to ensuring all young New Zealanders can achieve educational success.
“The Public Achievement Information tells us that in 2015, 83.3 per cent of 18-year-olds achieved NCEA Level 2 across New Zealand – that’s about 38,000 more kids than in 2008 achieving a qualification which will help prepare them for further study or work.
“This information is helping teachers provide the right support to the right students, and keeping parents and communities informed.  We all have a part to play,” Jonathan Young said.
